This award recognises outstanding leadership in creating a sustainable and environmentally responsible aviation supply chain. It celebrates the efforts of organisations that have implemented effective strategies to reduce the environmental impact of their procurement, logistics, and supply operations—delivering tangible green results without compromising performance or reliability. Open to aviation companies based on the island of Ireland or with a significant business presence here, eligible submissions may come from airlines, airports, lessors, MRO providers, manufacturers, service providers, or suppliers who are actively promoting sustainability within their supply chains. Entry is by a 5 A4 page submission; the judges will be looking for clear, evidence-based information that addresses the following criteria:
- Overview of Supply Chain Operations: Provide context about your supply chain operations—scale, key partners, materials sourced, services involved, and regions covered. Highlight your organisation’s role and influence within this supply network.
- Sustainability Strategy & Goals: Outline your green supply chain strategy, including environmental objectives, guiding principles, and how sustainability is integrated into procurement, vendor selection, logistics, and lifecycle management.
- Initiatives & Actions Taken: Detail specific actions implemented to improve sustainability in your supply chain over the past 12 months. This could include supplier engagement on emissions targets, sourcing sustainable materials, transitioning to low-carbon logistics, or implementing circular economy practices.
- Environmental Impact & Measurable Results: Demonstrate measurable environmental benefits achieved as a result of your supply chain initiatives. These may include reduced CO₂ emissions, fuel or energy savings, waste reduction, improved recyclability, or minimised packaging. Provide data and benchmarking where possible.
- Innovation & Technology: Highlight any use of innovative technologies, systems, or methodologies that have enhanced visibility, traceability, and sustainability across the supply chain. Examples may include blockchain for supply traceability, AI for emissions tracking, or digitised procurement systems.
- Supplier Collaboration & Engagement: Explain how you work with your suppliers to build a more sustainable supply chain. This might include joint sustainability initiatives, supplier code of conduct, auditing and reporting frameworks, or shared innovation projects.
- Compliance & Standards Alignment: Show how your efforts align with international sustainability frameworks or standards such as ISO 14001, IATA’s Environmental Assessment (IEnvA), ICAO recommendations, or the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
- Long-Term Vision & Scalability: Describe how your green supply chain model is designed for long-term impact and scalability. What are your future goals? How will you continue to push boundaries in supply chain sustainability?
