Vietnam launches Asia-Pacific aviation finance hub in Ho Chi Minh City

Vietnam International Financial Centre (VIFC) in Ho Chi Minh City announced the launch of the Asia-Pacific Aviation Financial Hub (AAFH) on 4 February at the 2026 Singapore Airshow, according to Vietnam Investment Review.

The announcement ceremony was attended by Vietjet and leading global aviation and financial institutions, including Airbus, Boeing, CFM International, Pratt and Whitney, Rolls-Royce, and the International Air Transport Association.

The AAFH is being developed amid major restructuring of the global aviation industry, with Vietnam emerging as one of the fastest-growing and most resilient aviation markets in the Asia-Pacific region.

Located in Ho Chi Minh City, the hub will offer specialised policy incentives for aviation finance under the VIFC legal framework, including competitive tax and fee structures, liberalised capital flow and foreign exchange mechanisms, multi-currency payment solutions, and flexible cross-border capital transfers.

AAFH solutions are delivered through a one-stop, multiservice model, connecting finance, airport infrastructure, free trade activities, maintenance, repair, and overhaul services, training, and logistics. The approach aims to optimise costs and improve operational efficiency across the aviation value chain.

By 2035, the AAFH is expected to facilitate approximately $50 billion (€42 billion) in transaction value, creating new investment opportunities and enabling investors to participate in high-value segments of Vietnam's and the region's aviation industry.

Truong Minh Huy Vu, chairman of VIFC in Ho Chi Minh City, stated the launch marks an important step in realising the vision of building VIFC into a modern, open, and trusted international financial platform.

The Asia-Pacific region is projected to become the world's largest aviation market in coming decades, with the AAFH expected to position Ho Chi Minh City as an emerging hub for international aviation finance.
