Simtech Aviation welcomes February cadet intake to multi-crew cooperation programme

Simtech Aviation, a Dublin-based Approved Training Organisation, has welcomed a new cohort of eight cadets into its Airline Pilot Standards Multi-Crew Cooperation (APS MCC) programme in February 2026, according to a report by AFM.

The intake includes students from the UK, Ireland, and wider Europe, reflecting continued demand for commercial pilot training across the region.

The academy operates with experienced airline instructors and maintains partnerships with flight schools throughout the UK and Europe. Graduates from Simtech's programmes are now employed by over 70 airlines globally.

The February intake follows Simtech's announcement last month of a long-term partnership with Aer Lingus, part of International Airlines Group, to expand its Dublin training facilities. The agreement will introduce new CAE full-flight simulators for the Airbus A320, A330, and A321XLR at Simtech's training centre.

The A320 CEO/NEO and A330 CEO/NEO simulators are scheduled to enter service in early 2026, with the A321XLR simulator following in early 2027. The expansion supports growing airline pilot training demand and strengthens Dublin's position as a European aviation training hub.

Founded in 2001, Simtech Aviation holds approvals from the Irish Aviation Authority and EASA. The organisation has trained more than 5,500 student pilots and delivers training across Airbus, Boeing, and ATR aircraft types.

Current training assets at Dublin include ATR 500 and ATR 600 full-flight simulators, a fixed-base Boeing 737-800NG simulator for APS MCC training, and an Airbus A320 full-flight simulator with expanded availability anticipated from mid-2026.
