Setna iO expands credit facility to $550m to accelerate aftermarket growth

Aviation aftermarket and MRO company Setna iO has amended and expanded its commercial credit facility, raising total borrowing capacity to US$550 million (€503 million) in a move designed to accelerate investment across its global platform.

According to AviTrader, the expanded facility was supported by six commercial banks and reflects confidence in Setna's operational model, earnings profile and low leverage. The additional financial flexibility will fund continued investment across its key business units, including Setnix, Setnix UK, PartsLab, Zulu and LGT.

Setna also indicated that the anticipated addition of J&C Aero to the group would further broaden its international reach and service offering across the aftermarket.

The company has grown from an initial concept into a scaled global platform over the past decade, spanning parts trading, MRO services and aviation aftermarket solutions. Setna described its current position as an early stage in a longer growth trajectory, with an ambition to establish itself as a global leader in the aviation aftermarket and services sector.

The credit expansion reflects broader financing trends across the independent aftermarket. Sustained demand for used serviceable materials and surplus parts has prompted a wave of structured financing activity among mid-tier aftermarket platforms seeking to scale inventory capacity and geographic reach.

That demand is underpinned by structural pressures on the global fleet. New aircraft delivery delays from both Airbus and Boeing, driven by ongoing supply chain disruptions and engine availability constraints, have extended the operational life of ageing narrowbody and widebody aircraft. According to Oliver Wyman's 2025 MRO market outlook, the global MRO market is projected to reach approximately US$130 billion (€119 billion) by 2034, with aftermarket parts representing a growing share of that total.
