Nigeria targets aviation collaboration with Ireland

Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, is in Ireland to forge deeper ties with aviation leaders and explore global training partnerships. At the Africa–Ireland Trade Horizon Conference in Dublin, Keyamo spotlighted Nigeria’s push to modernise aviation infrastructure and align with international best practices.

A technical visit to Newcastle Aerodrome Aviation School followed, where conversations focused on a potential partnership with Nigeria’s College of Aviation Technology. The goal is clear: elevate local training standards and expand human capital by tapping into Ireland’s aviation expertise.

This visit signals Nigeria’s ambition to reposition itself as a regional aviation hub—one built on strategic alliances, global knowledge-sharing, and a sharpened focus on long-term capability building.
