John McMahon Joins Judging Panel for the Aviation Industry Awards 2025

The Aviation Industry Awards 2025 proudly welcomes John McMahon, Managing Director of M.J. McMahon & Company, to this year's distinguished judging panel. He will join the Awards Gala on Friday, 28 November 2025, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Santry, where Ireland’s aviation community will gather for an evening celebrating leadership, innovation, and operational excellence.

John is a recognised leader in global aviation with long experience across strategy, finance, and governance. His career includes senior roles in aircraft leasing, consultancy work, and an academic post at the University of Limerick.

He co-founded Genesis Lease with GECAS in 2006, brought it to the New York Stock Exchange, and led it until its merger with AerCap in 2010. He also held senior positions at Lloyds Bank and several leasing platforms that later became part of AerCap.

He now serves on the boards of Aerlytix, Genesis, and several aviation ABS platforms, with past roles at Wizz Air and BNP Paribas Ireland. His qualifications span the University of Galway, Trinity College Dublin, ACCA, Harvard Business School, and MIT.

As a member of the judging panel of Aviation Industry Awards 2025, John brings exceptional insight into what defines excellence, innovation, and leadership within the aviation sector.

His expertise will play a pivotal role in assessing entries across this year’s categories, including Aviation Company of the Year, Outstanding Contribution to the Aviation Industry, and Innovation in Safety and Risk Management among others.
