Jetcraft Commercial, the airline trading division of global aviation group Jetcraft, is pursuing potential deals with Irish carriers Ryanair and Emerald Airlines as reported by Business Post, signalling its interest in expanding into the Irish market.

The company operates worldwide, including the US, UAE, Switzerland, Russia, and China.

Raphael Haddad, Jetcraft Commercial’s president, told the Business Post, “We’re trying to work with regional companies like Emerald Airlines, because that’s an airline we haven’t done any business with yet. Ryanair too, maybe one day.” He added, “Michael O’Leary hasn’t put me off Ryanair… He knows what he’s doing, he’s very smart. A very shrewd person, I’d be privileged to do business with him at some point.”

Jetcraft specialises in aircraft trading rather than leasing, acting as a short-term buyer and seller seeking capital gains rather than steady rental income. Haddad highlighted the sector’s supply chain challenges following Covid-19: “Stopping production is easy, restarting it takes years… the whole supply chain is having a hard time restarting and retraining the qualified personnel.”

Over the past decade, Jetcraft has completed more than 950 transactions valued at $16 billion (€13.44 billion). Haddad confirmed the company would consider aircraft from any manufacturer certified by recognised authorities, including the European Union Aviation Safety Agency, FAA, or Transport Canada. He expressed hope that Boeing and Airbus would resolve production backlogs this year, improving fleet availability for airlines worldwide.

Haddad also indicated it is “highly possible” that Jetcraft could establish a dedicated office in Ireland, further integrating the firm into Europe’s aviation market.
