BETA Technologies’ electric aircraft, the CX300, has taken flight in Ireland—marking a pivotal step in Europe’s shift toward zero-emission regional air mobility. With a range of up to 386 miles and capacity for five passengers or over half a tonne of cargo, the battery-electric aircraft is tailored for short-haul operations and high-frequency routes.

Shannon Airport served as the launchpad for BETA’s European tour, positioning Ireland as both a proving ground and strategic entry point for electric aviation. The CX300’s debut is backed by plans for scalable charging infrastructure and ongoing partnerships across Europe, including with Bristow, the global aviation services firm set to take delivery of up to 50 aircraft.

This is not just a product demo—it’s a clear signal of how aircraft design, regulation, and infrastructure are converging faster than expected. The question isn’t if electric flight will take off, but how quickly it will reshape regional aviation.
