ECT Aviation targets niche freight routes with BN2T-4S expansion

ECT Aviation is entering scheduled cargo operations with its first BN2T-4S Islander, aiming to build a specialised freight network between Europe and North Africa. The turboprop will launch by late 2025, focusing on time-critical, high-value shipments including pharmaceuticals, artwork, and precious metals.

Currently operating a Pilatus PC-12 NGX for business and MEDEVAC flights, ECT Aviation’s move into freight signals a strategic shift to tap markets demanding flexibility and reliability beyond what traditional carriers offer. Its upcoming BN2T-4S fleet, equipped with advanced Garmin avionics and renowned for short runway performance, will allow operations into remote or underdeveloped airports across the region.

A second Islander is on order for 2026, underscoring the company’s ambition to build a dedicated regional freight capability with speed at its core. This pivot offers decision-makers insights into how agile operators are redefining air cargo models to unlock underserved trade corridors.
