Ireland-based aircraft lessor CDB Aviation, a wholly owned subsidiary of China Development Bank Financial Leasing Co., Ltd., has executed lease agreements for five Airbus A321-271NX aircraft with LATAM Airlines Group, the largest airline group in Latin America. The A321neos are scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2026 and will join an existing A321neo already on lease to LATAM from CDB Aviation's orderbook.

Business Wire reported that the announcement was made on the sidelines of the ISTAT Americas conference in San Diego. The agreement deepens an existing commercial relationship between CDB Aviation and LATAM, which operates across five domestic markets in Latin America, including Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru.

LATAM currently operates 18 Airbus A321neo aircraft, all registered with its Brazilian subsidiary, and configures the type with 224 seats in a single-class layout for use on high-density domestic and regional routes across South America.

Luís da Silva, head of commercial, Americas at CDB Aviation, said the lessor was "happy to strengthen our relationship with the leading airline group in Latin America, supporting its initiatives to invest in the latest generation aircraft to enhance the flexibility of its hubs with environmental stewardship top of mind."

Da Silva added that as air travel growth throughout South America "continues its upward momentum, fleet solutions that offer innovative approaches, speed of execution, and access to the most modern aircraft types will be key to the strategic growth of the region's airlines."

The A321neo features new-generation engines and aerodynamic improvements designed to reduce fuel burn and carbon emissions, making the type central to fleet renewal strategies across the region.
