Aviation Capital Group (ACG), a United States-based aircraft lessor, has acquired a portfolio of 24 aircraft from Ireland's Avolon in a definitive agreement signed on 19 February, according to AeroTime.

The transaction follows a previous 2025 acquisition of a 19-aircraft portfolio from Avolon by ACG.

Of the 24 aircraft joining ACG, 18 are narrowbodies, including 12 new-technology aircraft, and six widebody aircraft, all of which are new technology. The 17 airlines operating the aircraft are spread across 16 countries, with four carriers becoming new customers of ACG.

Thomas Baker, Chief Executive Officer and President of ACG, stated proactive aircraft trading is an important pillar of the company's growth strategy. The acquisition of these sought-after aircraft strengthens the portfolio and supports ambitions to be a lessor of scale whilst enhancing fleet sustainability, already among the youngest in the industry.

As of 1 February 2026, the average age of the portfolio is approximately 4.5 years, with the average remaining lease term approximately 8.9 years. ACG has been strengthening its position to expand its fleet, which includes 470 owned, managed, and committed aircraft.

Ross O'Connor, Chief Financial Officer at Avolon, stated the latest portfolio transaction with ACG further extends the relationship and demonstrates the firm's ability to execute aircraft trading at scale. The transaction builds on record trading performance in 2025, reflecting continuing strong demand for Avolon's assets.

In January 2026, ACG placed an order for 50 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, split between 737 MAX 10s and 737 MAX 8s. The transaction brought ACG's 737 MAX order book to 121 aircraft.
