Indian carrier Air India has listed its cargo capacity on digital air freight platform cargo.one, making its international freight capacity available through direct digital booking channels for the first time and enabling freight forwarders to discover, quote and book general cargo up to 2,500 kg on Air India services.
According to Aviation Business News, the partnership covers Air India's international routes between destinations in India and major gateways including Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Zurich, New York, San Francisco and Tokyo. The carrier operates hub facilities in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru, delivering freight across South Asia and key global trade lanes.
Ramesh Mamidala, head of cargo at Air India Cargo, said the partnership expanded the digital accessibility of the airline's cargo network to freight forwarders worldwide. "This collaboration will help us strengthen our commercial reach while offering customers greater convenience, agility and efficiency," he said.
Moritz Claussen, founder and co-chief executive of cargo.one, said the addition of Air India Cargo's capacity to the platform was significant given the carrier's scale and the growing role of agentic AI in freight procurement. "As forwarders apply agentic AI for optimised decision making, quoting and booking, it is imperative that carriers like Air India Cargo have their capacity fully integrated into these modern operating methods, particularly within large global forwarders who power their procurement and sales at scale with cargo.one," he said.
The listing arrives as India's air cargo sector continues to expand rapidly, underpinned by strong growth in the country's manufacturing and e-commerce sectors and increasing demand for time-sensitive freight connectivity between India and key markets in Europe, North America and Northeast Asia. India has emerged as one of the world's fastest-growing air cargo markets, with volumes on India-Europe and India-North America trade lanes rising consistently over recent years as the country's export base broadens and international logistics networks deepen their engagement with Indian origin and destination freight.
Digital booking platforms have become an increasingly important distribution channel for airline cargo sales, with cargo.one among the leading platforms connecting freight forwarders with carrier capacity across the global air freight market. The integration of major carriers onto such platforms is accelerating as airlines respond to forwarder demand for real-time pricing, instant booking confirmation and seamless digital workflows across the procurement process.
